Kelly Pavlik
Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik shocked the boxing world on September 29, 2007, when he knocked out Jermain Taylor to win the WBC and WBO Middleweight World Titles. A tall, hard-hitting puncher from Youngstown's South Side, Pavlik was known for his calm demeanor, punishing jab, and ability to battle back from adversity. He successfully defended his titles and unified fan loyalty across the country, putting Youngstown back on the boxing map with his blue-collar toughness. Today, Kelly continues his legacy by training the next generation at his Youngstown-based facility, the Kelly Pavlik Championship Boxing (KPCB).
