The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report (see link below) on the ongoing investigation of the Enbridge Inc. natural gas–fueled building explosion that occurred in Youngstown on May 28th.

Note that this preliminary report contains only factual information pertinent to the investigation and does not include findings, analysis, or probable cause, all of which will be issued at a later date. For more on NTSB’s investigative process, please visit the NTSB website (see link below).

The Youngstown Fire Department has given the all clear for Downtown and the affected area related to today’s evacuations due to the smell of natural gas. We appreciate the thorough response by Enbridge Gas and YFD as well as everyone’s patience as they completed their investigation. All Downtown Youngstown events planned for this weekend will occur as scheduled.
