Fire

Under the leadership of Chief John J. O'Neill, the Youngstown Fire Department is among the best prepared, trained, and equipped departments in the Mahoning Valley. The YFD maintains 8 stations located throughout the City, ensuring adequate fire protection to all City residents.

Youngstown is revered for its Insurance Service Organization (ISO) Class 2 Fire Protection Rating, a distinction known to only 2% of the nation's 49,000 rated fire districts.

For a great source of information about YFD equipment, stations, history, and recent fire events, be sure to visit the Youngstown Fire website (opens in new window), maintained by YFD enthusiast Greg Ricker since 1998.
